Evening shift, help me out and reblog the shit out of this please
This will be a corker of a line-up
Everything Went Heavier, Nottingham’s legendary all day event is returning for one day only at its spiritual home, The Old Angel on October 6th 2012. The event will bring together ten of the UK’s finest underground stoner, sludge, doom, punk and hardcore bands, all in the name of the DIY spirit.Topping the bill are HANG THE BASTARD, who are just going from strength to strength. Releasing records through labels like Purgatory, Holy Roar and now on Thirty Days Of Night, these guys deal out riffs and attitude by the fistful. Sounding like the bastard offspring of Integrity, Eyehategod and Electric Wizard, it’s no surprise that they can play to both hardcore and heavy crowds without compromise. The big surprise is that fans of The Wicker Man, HELVIS are reforming for this special event. Bloody Kev and his merry band of scumbags, who all did time in a plethora of late 90s hardcore bands, will be wheeling their pagan thrash metal out of the retirement home and threatening anyone within a 12ft radius of the stage. Hold onto your hats and your drinks, as we reverence the sacrifice once more. Also playing are conquering doom merchants WITCHSORROW, who are about to release their 2nd album of Sabbath/Electric Wizard worship on Rise Above, and who will also be treading the boards again at this year’s Bloodstock festival. Alongside them, are the inimitable HAMMERS who are back together after a short hiatus with a brand new album and more relentless touring of their crust/sludge which is unlike anything else. The Old Angel is a small venue, but with plenty of character, and a capacity of just 110. This will be a very intimate affair, so be advised to grab an advance ticket early to avoid disappointment. These are on sale now for the absolute bargain price of £5 via the links below. The rest of the bands will be confirmed over the coming weeksBUY TICKETS - www.witchhunterrecords.bigcartel.com/WEBSITE - www.facebook.com/EverythingWentHeavierFACEBOOK EVENT - www.facebook.com/events/332772316794153/EMAIL - everythingwentheavier@gmail.comwww.myspace.com/helvisukwww.hangthebastard.co.ukwww.facebook.com/witchsorrowdoomwww.hammers.bandcamp.com

IRON WITCH ‘Single malt’ by OPAQUS RECORDS - $5.50
”What we have here is 100% Eyehategod worship par excellence: IRON WITCH are stuck knee deep in the dirty swamps of ultra slow, ultra sick Sludge that has been cultivated by EHG and their many disciples. They’re hailing from Liverpool, England, and even though the English North-West isn’t exactly known for its swamps, closeness and blistering heat, England is home (and birthland) of some of the heaviest Sludge, Doom and Stoner Rock bands ever – and IRON WITCH has everything it takes to gain their place in this hall of downtempo fame. Bluesy riffs, unhealthy like the Louisianan midday sun, nihilistic whirls of pain and depression and a Black Flag‘ish uncomfortableism build up to a outstandingly sick, harsh and feedback ridden bastard of an EP. Worth mentioning is the guitar sound – crisp, harsh and painfully defined, yet unpolished and raw as fuck it mercilessly keeps dripping down on you. And the overall production of Single Malt is no less appropriate – sandpaper grinding on knuckles would probably be more bearable” -cvlt nation dual panel j-card,duplicated on translucent red tape stock with a translucent sky-blue acetate dot a-side sticker limited to 50 copies!!
